Established in 1979 by Trevor Grist and Chris Taylor, VOLKSPEED was originally formed as an engineering company designing and constructing Formula Race cars and Engines.
Vehicles and Race Engines built and prepared by VOLKSPEED enjoyed considerable success in the early 80s.
With Trevor Grist Designing, Chris Taylor Driving, and Volkspeed Engineering Constructing, the team achieved numerous Race victories; culminating in a 'VOLKSPEED V 81' winning the National Formula Vee Drivers Championship of 1982 driven by Chris Taylor.
The Car Sales Company at VOLKSPEED is now owned by Trevor Grist who has over thirty years experience in performance vehicles, as well as designing and constructing Specialist / Race cars and engines. Expertise in the car retail market is supplied by Jason Penfold who joined us from Mercedes- Benz Chelsea where he was Sales Manager.
We realise that for many people buying a pre-owned vehicle can be a worrying time. Suspect past history, mileage discrepancies and undisclosed faults are just some of the pitfalls that await the unwary!
To maintain this standard we source most of our stock through the main dealer network. As underwriters for Mercedes, Jaguar, Saab and BMW Dealerships we are able to obtain selected, premium, low mileage vehicles with known History. Most of these cars will have been privately owned before being traded in for a new vehicle; many will have only one previous owner, and all will have service history.
Every car we sell will be supplied with an H.P.I. CERTIFICATE confirming vehicle identification numbers, specification details and previous ownership history. This Certificate also ensures against financial encumbrance, mileage discrepancies, and previous theft or damage listings.
Whether you are a local person who feels more comfortable purchasing a car from a well established and trusted local company, (many of our sales are the result of repeat business or recommendations) or have found one of our vehicles via the Internet, you can always buy with confidence.
Before your new car is collected we will undertake a comprehensive mechanical and safety check in our workshops. Our team will ensure that your car is prepared to a high standard. Any component that is found not to be well within MOT Standards will be replaced. Any service falling due will be carried out and a new M.O.T. will be provided where appropriate.
